Our two children are in the Lower School at AWS, and after two years here, we couldn’t be happier. The attention given to each child is exceptional, and the sense of community is truly special. When we first started, the sheer amount of information felt a bit overwhelming, but we quickly realized it comes from a genuine desire to keep families informed and connected. It’s a place where you always feel heard (so different from our previous school) and where our kids feel safe and happy.

The IB program reminds me of the strong, well-rounded education in the England school system, and there are many open channels of communication between staff and parents. The sports and arts programs are excellent, giving students the chance to discover and grow their passions. The staff also supports social and emotional well-being, helping students become confident, resilient individuals. Annie Wright truly offers a nurturing, high-quality education where students and families feel they belong.

In addition to sports and the arts in the Upper School, my kids are thriving academically and socially. They have loved the fun evenings like Casino Night, Fright Night, and Lip Sync. They speak Spanish and Mandarin, and appreciate that many of their friends are also multilingual and come from all around the world.
AWS helps our kids grow into independent individuals who are well prepared for their next steps after graduation. My older daughter is now at a renowned private college in California, and my younger child is also looking forward to applying to first class universities.

Upon seeing the video of my child's graduation ceremony at Annie Wright Schools at the end of May, my heart was filled with not only emotion but also gratitude. Here, an adolescent underwent a transformation from a naive youth to a confident and positive young adult. When my child first enrolled at Annie Wright, it was during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Annie Wright Schools' display of responsibility and commitment during that time was deeply moving. The school repeatedly adjusted its plans based on the pandemic situation, ensuring the children's safety and health while guaranteeing that their academic progress remained uninterrupted. What was most touching was the residential staff member, Jeff, who, during the first summer when my child couldn't return home due to the pandemic, picked up my child from the airport, comforted them, and took care of them. This guardianship during a special time not only alleviated the anxiety of a child alone in a foreign land but also brought immense peace of mind to parents separated by oceans. In terms of academic cultivation, the school's rigorous approach to scholarship and diverse curriculum system built a solid knowledge framework for my child. What delighted us even more was how the school's rich artistic resources and inclusive campus atmosphere helped my child discover a passion for music. Annie Wright Schools, founded in 1884, is one of the oldest girls' boarding schools in the Western United States. In the fall of 2017, a boys' school for grades 9-12 was established. Annie Wright's admissions officer highlighted one of the school's greatest strengths: its "Single-gender education program."
