Is very hygienic and beautiful, especially the dorms. Also, all teachers were incredibly nice, supportive and welcoming. Over the past two years, my child's independence and learning motivation have undoubtedly improved significantly. What I am most satisfied with: 1. Comprehensiveness: The school offers ample programs and opportunities for children in sports, arts, academics, social responsibility, and leadership. 2. Faculty: This is reflected in several aspects: a. Teachers always encourage children to challenge themselves. As long as the child shows interest, there's always a next-level course waiting for them; the child is also continuously self-motivated by this, for example, Mr. Shubleka for math. b. Teachers provide timely positive feedback. Our child has participated in cross-country for three consecutive years; often, the training is very tough, and the child sometimes wants to give up. Each time, it was the teacher's encouragement that made her persevere. When she performs well, teachers send emails to acknowledge her, for example, Mr. Bala. c. Since the child boards at school and parents are not around, the school assigns an Advisor. Our child's Advisor, Mrs. Cinclair, acts like a parent, meeting with the child at least once a week to understand her studies and life. The child can contact her anytime for any needs. d. The college counseling teachers provided by the school are also excellent. Ms. Roller, a Columbia University graduate, has clear thinking and offers sound advice. I am very willing to communicate with her; she is the best college counselor I have ever met. 3. School Meals: The school meals are rich and healthy, comparable to a buffet at a star-rated hotel. 4. Dorms and Facilities: The dorms and facilities are excellent and meet all student needs.

Beyond its rich curriculum and diverse activities, Cushing is also a warm and supportive community.

Previously, a student was hospitalized due to health reasons. The school's Health Center immediately assessed the condition and promptly sent the student to the hospital for medical attention. Subsequent emails to the parents detailed the situation and offered comfort. On the day of discharge, the school arranged for a nurse to liaise with the hospital, then responsibly obtained the necessary medication and accompanied the student back to campus. Throughout the entire process, school staff maintained open communication and real-time synchronization with the parents.

We are very satisfied with our overall experience at Cushing Academy!

This year, our child has clearly become more independent and confident. The school teachers are very caring towards students, and we'd like to thank Mr. Hindle, our child's advisor. We really appreciate the school's small class sizes, which allow our child to receive more attention, and their math and English grades have improved significantly.

Dorm life is also great; our child has made friends from all over the world. Weekend activities are abundant, with various trips available for students to choose from, so they are never bored. The cafeteria food could offer more Asian options, but overall it's quite good.

The school's art and sports resources are excellent. Our child fell in love with drama class, and Ms. Ohm provided a lot of professional guidance, encouraging our child to participate in school plays. Seeing our child confidently and enthusiastically perform on stage made us parents incredibly proud and relieved.

In summary, Cushing Academy is an excellent school that focuses on both academics and the holistic development of children. We are very glad we chose it!

Our child is now in 11th grade at Cushing. From the initial unease of leaving home in 9th grade, to now independently managing all study tasks, sports activities, and orchestra performances perfectly, we must express our gratitude for their growth at Cushing. For those who went to study abroad during the pandemic, the school handled all aspects very properly. At the time, our child was accepted into several high schools, including SBS, Cushing, and Lawrence. After various considerations, we chose Cushing, located in the suburbs of Boston. The dorms and sports facilities are excellent, with ice hockey being a major highlight, and the arts program is also very impressive. Over these past three years, our child has grown remarkably well, which is the most crucial point. In short, what suits the child best is indeed the best.

As a graduating family, I highly recommend Cushing Academy, a school we are extremely satisfied with. This school not only boasts a strong academic atmosphere and diverse curriculum, but its teachers are also incredibly dedicated, with our advisor being a prime example.
Firstly, the school's curriculum is truly excellent: it offers a wide range of in-depth subject choices, including rigorous academic courses as well as creative arts and sports programs. This setup allows children to choose learning paths that suit their interests and strengths.
Our advisor, who has been with us for several years, has been particularly reassuring and touching. She not only cares about our child's academic progress but also pays close attention to her daily life and emotional well-being. Whenever our child encounters difficulties or problems, the advisor listens patiently, provides thoughtful guidance, and helps find solutions. She goes to great lengths to help children better adapt to school life and has been a wonderful partner to us.
As parents, we all hope to choose a place where our children can both gain knowledge and grow happily. Cushing Academy is definitely a worthy choice to consider. I believe that here, under the guidance of excellent teachers and courses, children will surely thrive and be ready to face future challenges.
Finally, I sincerely invite all parents to visit Cushing Academy and personally experience the charm and warmth of this school. I believe you will be as moved as I am by the educational environment and the enthusiasm of its teachers and students.

Hello dear friends, my name is Bao, and this is my first year at this academy. Currently, I'm a Varsity soccer athlete here and also one of the student leaders, with a desire to connect the wonderful people in this environment. In September, I stepped onto this beautiful campus for the first time. I still clearly remember my tour guide showing me all these beautiful buildings, especially the captivating lawn. I became passionate and excited about the new things I could learn at this school. As the school year progressed, Bao met many wonderful and positive teachers who helped guide Bao to become a better student and person. Bao also really wants to mention his coach, a wonderful coach and a mentor he stayed with after every class just to talk about soccer, Coach Berger. Trust me, in his class, you'll never be bored. Bao wouldn't be himself without his friends, who check on you every day to see how your life and school are going. You both exchange knowledge and teach each other new things. This year, Bao has met many true friends whom Bao is extremely grateful for sharing his wonderful journey. Fortunately, Bao's journey at Cushing is not over yet, and Bao is very excited to learn new things in the future in this environment. Bao hopes to see you next year. #GoPenguinNation

My name is Linh Giang, and I graduated in 2013. September 2010 marked the first time I was admitted to a boarding school environment in the US. Before entering Cushing Academy, I had almost no English proficiency, but with the help of many people (international friends, teachers, mentors, and other school staff), after three years of studying at this school, I became a mature, confident person, fluent in English communication. The teachers and mentors at Cushing would do anything to help me study well and become a better person. The experiences, memories, and friendships I gained at Cushing Academy are invaluable.

Hello future members of Cushing Academy! I'm very excited to know that you're thinking of considering us as your second home, and I'm ready to share my personal stories to help you get a closer look at what it's like to be a proud Cushing Penguin!
My name is Vinh (Jerry), and I am currently a sophomore. I am a Double-Varsity athlete, competing in both Varsity Cross Country and Varsity Track and Field. I am also working as a lead tour guide for the admissions office, helping curious new families and students better understand this academy. I still vividly remember the first day I set foot on campus; I was captivated by the beauty of the scenery and facilities. When I walked through the gates, I was welcomed by friendly teachers and enthusiastic classmates who have become my closest friends. For the first time in my life, I had to do my own laundry... which was quite new to me. From a timid freshman to a highly motivated Double-Varsity athlete, competing at various universities as part of the Varsity Model United Nations, promoting racial awareness as president of Project Embrace for wonderful people in this environment, and also enjoying working as an editor for Cushing's literary magazine. Looking back, I realize that I have come a long way; I am also incredibly grateful to my friends and teachers who have supported me every step of the way in this chapter of my life. Now, I am proud to be working as the Vietnamese Student Representative, guiding international friends on the best journey of their lives. I hope to see you next year! #RollPens

Our child enrolled in Cushing in 2019 and spent four precious years of high school there. The school's management is well-balanced, and they are very responsible towards students, making us, as parents, feel at ease about our child living on campus. The school offers multiple AP courses, which are competitive during the application season. The teachers are all very responsible, approachable, and provide helpful assistance. The supervising teacher was very helpful to our child, and several subject teachers have remained unforgettable. Having experienced the past two years of the pandemic, the school's policies have been rational and reasonable, constantly adjusting to ensure students' health, safety, and effective learning quality, while also providing many convenient testing and other supportive measures. Our child met very important teachers, staff, and friends here, and benefited immensely! Grateful for Cushing!

This Chinese New Year, I've been wanting to learn something for schools, and I thought the FindingSchool platform might be quite suitable. Earlier, my older son decided at the last minute that he wanted to attend a US high school, missing the regular application period. Fortunately, after March 10th, he applied for supplementary admission, and through video interviews and his grades, he was lucky enough to receive offers from several US high schools in various states. Considering factors like educational environment, safety, and the school's founding history, we ultimately chose Cushing. It was a US high school we had never visited beforehand. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, he had online classes in China for a year. There were several times I wanted him to give up, as classes from 8 PM to 4 AM were truly grueling, mainly because I worried about his health. However, he insisted on not returning to his original international high school in China, so we let him continue. Thankfully, after a year, he was able to successfully travel and return to campus. His younger brother, who had always been reluctant to study in the US, was also persuaded to go along, as having two brothers together would provide mutual support. On March 1, 2022, shortly after 7 AM, we drove into the campus for the first time. The thick snow and the remote location of the campus made me briefly question if our school choice was wrong, especially since the younger son's first words upon seeing me were: "Dad, it's too cold here..." After staying at the school for two weeks and another week at the end of September, I gained a few insights: 1) The school's attention to students is much better than expected. 2) Encourage children to communicate more with teachers. 3) New students should proactively choose ESL if possible. 4) Pay attention to the school's parent APP to stay informed about your child's situation. Special thanks to Principal Randy for his meticulous care of international students. Also, there is no right or wrong in choosing a school; what's suitable is best.

Hello to the Vietnamese families visiting Cushing School. First, I would like to express my gratitude to the school's leadership team, as well as its teachers and staff. My son left home when he was 15 years old. At this age, at home, he was always cared for by his parents, and every task required the support of those around him. He is also a relatively bright and independent young man, but as a mother, I always worry about my child. When he first left home to attend a school in a foreign country, I was very worried and uneasy. But after one year of studying and returning home, he has become more confident, knows how to take care of himself, and organizes his schedule very scientifically. Most importantly, he has developed a greater purpose: to be admitted to top universities in the United States and to study much harder.
As parents, seeing our child change and mature day by day brings us great joy. What makes us happiest is that after every class, every evening, he calls home, and we always hear stories about the school, his classes, and how he studies, all told with a very cheerful and excited tone.
I believe that everything the teachers have taught has helped him develop all his potential, and the experiences at Cushing School will equip your children to confidently shine when they enter university, and also serve as a foundation to build a young generation that is always vibrant and dedicated to the community and society.
Love and gratitude.

Pros: The school's art programs are very strong, the campus environment is beautiful, and the dining options are diverse.
Cons: The location is remote, tuition fees are expensive, and the communication between tutors/mentors and parents is not close enough; if parents don't proactively reach out, students are basically left unsupervised.

When we chose a high school, we unhesitatingly selected Cushing. In the blink of an eye, our children are about to graduate. Here, they have received incredibly high-quality education and selfless care from the teachers. The school's food is also excellent; Cushing has a great dining hall, which is very important for growing children. A favorable student-teacher ratio, along with outstanding faculty quality and educational resources, lays a solid foundation for our children's future. The teachers, and even the Headmaster, genuinely care for and look after every student, treating them like their own children, showing immense responsibility. I remember one time we couldn't reach our child, so we contacted the Headmaster via WeChat. The Headmaster immediately put aside his work and personally went to the dormitory to find our child, which deeply touched us. The Headmaster maintains close contact with parents and often says that we can tell him if there's anything he can help with. We are truly fortunate to have encountered such a wonderful Headmaster. There are many such instances where the Headmaster, teachers, and school staff are always willing to extend a helping hand whenever students or parents face any difficulties, handling every detail personally. Cushing is like a warm family, and our children are very lucky to grow up in such a family, where the learning atmosphere is also superb! As our children are about to graduate, we are grateful to Cushing, and grateful for this encounter!

Cushing Academy, founded in 1865, is located in Ashburnham, Massachusetts, USA, an hour's drive from Boston. It appeared exceptionally exquisite today, after the first clear spell following a heavy snowfall. The school excels in visual arts and sports, especially in jewelry design, painting, and glassmaking. Today, I had the privilege of visiting their jewelry design workshop and met a very kind old gentleman making jewelry. The school's hockey program is very strong, reaching university level, and the admission office displays many photos of students participating in hockey games. Moreover, the sports facilities are both luxurious and very user-friendly, featuring a large indoor basketball court and a gym. After sports, not only do they wash students' clothes, but there are also dedicated places for repairing clothes and for post-exercise physical therapy. The school library has spacious areas specifically for students to study. Furthermore, its university placements in the past two years have been excellent. Every brick underfoot is engraved with the names of graduated students.

Cushing High School is nestled on a small hillside, surrounded by forests and lush green lawns. Its oldest red-brick main building boasts a history of over 150 years, while newly constructed teaching buildings, dormitories, and gymnasiums are thoughtfully laid out, featuring harmonious colors and a simple yet grand and beautiful design. Bringing our child back for the spring semester, seeing the school again after the COVID-19 pandemic, felt exceptionally warm. Seeing the kind and friendly teachers once more, and knowing our child can learn in a safe campus with like-minded friends, truly brings daily happy reports from them. For a child to love a school like this, spending four years of their blooming adolescence here, achieving life's most important academic accomplishments—this will undoubtedly be a lifelong treasure for them, and the starting point for shaping them as they eventually enter society. How fortunate we are to have come to Cushing!

I graduated from Cushing in the 90s. Afterward, I also went on to pursue further studies at the University of Michigan and Stanford University. Cushing High School was definitely a significant chapter that changed my life. Although it's been almost 30 years since graduation, the fond memories remain vivid.

First of all, this high school is beautiful. Although the school is small, it is well-equipped for its size; for 400 students, the facilities are top-notch, and the teacher-to-student ratio is very appropriate. Basically, walking from one building to another, if you bump into 10 people, most of them can call you by your name. This kind of warmth, and the school's care and concern for its students, cannot be adequately described in words.

As I recall, the school curriculum was very rigorous. Achieving good grades in challenging courses definitely provided a solid foundation for getting into good universities.

Extracurricular activities were very rich. The school had a strong sports culture, and participating or simply being a spectator was a wonderful experience.

Most importantly, I also made some lifelong friends who have had a positive impact on my life.

I sincerely recommend Cushing!

Cushing is a school with excellent traditions, not only boasting first-class hardware facilities but also well-regulated management. I really like the school's atmosphere; it's very warm, and the teachers, students, and classmates are all very friendly. When my child first arrived at the school, the dormitory manager and senior students were very enthusiastic, helping them settle in. Soon, my child made good friends and easily and happily integrated into the big family. The school offers a wide range of rich art and sports activities, ensuring every child can find something they enjoy. My child first participated in cross country, then skiing during the winter short term, and registered for beginner ice hockey in the spring term. Unfortunately, they haven't been back to school since the pandemic. What's particularly worth mentioning are the school's teachers; teachers of all subjects possess excellent professional qualities and dedication, and my child made great academic progress. Additionally, from the time of enrollment, each child has an advisor (a teacher). Whenever the child has difficulties or questions, they often seek advice from their advisor, who always provides excellent and practical suggestions and help in a timely manner. We are very grateful and reassured that our child had such wonderful teachers and a warm, friendly environment to accompany them during their growth away from their parents. On a side note, the college admission information on the website needs to be updated as it doesn't match the school's actual admission situation.

It's been a year since I last experienced the school's beautiful forest-surrounded environment up close. I deeply miss and long for it. The school has changed a lot this past year, with new, beautiful student dormitories built, and it's said that some dormitory facilities have been renovated, which is fantastic!
What's most appealing is that the school allows every student to participate in such a rich variety of sports teams. The key elements — diligent training, professional equipment, regular inter-school competitions, and even stylish sports uniforms — are all meticulously managed. This is another important daily 'course' for every student: participate, participate, take it seriously, take it seriously. It truly makes one feel that studying at Cushing is worthwhile.

Cushing visits the school many times each year, and the school's hardware facilities are first-rate. What impressed me most about this school is its excellent visual arts program, and the school's food is also quite good. A new principal was appointed in recent years, leading to some changes in school management.

1. **Outstanding Visual and Performing Arts:** The arts curriculum is incredibly rich, offering 21 performing arts courses and 18 visual arts courses. Visual arts include jewelry design, fashion design, sculpture, pottery, photography, digital art, and video production. Music courses feature piano, drum set, and saxophone. Students with special musical talents can receive one-on-one private lessons.

2. **Strong STEM and Robotics Programs:** The STEM and robotics programs are also quite advantageous, with a large number of AP and honors courses in STEM, including 8 AP courses and 5 honors courses.

3. **Sports Strengths:** The field hockey program reaches the level of university athletes. In addition, ice hockey and soccer are both excellent, with many ice hockey players joining major leagues, national teams, and various university teams, and even being received by Clinton.

4. **21st Century Leadership Center:** The school features a 21st Century Leadership Center that integrates current events into the classroom, promotes global travel experiences, and brings in a variety of speakers to share information about the world with students, enabling them to unleash their greatest potential in the challenging 21st century.

Cushing Academy prioritizes a bright future for its students as its primary service mission. It boasts an almost perfect team for university admissions counseling, composed of four experienced teachers who graduated from prestigious universities. They leverage their extensive social networks and valuable practical experience to help each student find the most suitable and excellent university within their capabilities. The school offers advanced mathematics courses not typically found in regular American high schools, as well as academic summits like nationwide advanced mathematics competitions. For Chinese students, this is a significant advantage, allowing them to gain an edge over other American high school students and international high school students when applying to universities. The meticulously arranged and well-managed full-time boarding system also makes the academy's strength, resources, and demanding academic requirements self-evident.
Beyond its excellent academic resources, Cushing Academy is also highly favored by upper-class American parents as a cradle for nurturing the next generation, owing to its rich extracurricular sports, music, and art activities. The school offers up to 23 types of sports, including ice hockey, field hockey, baseball, and football. Furthermore, the school hosts annual cultural exchange events like music festivals and art festivals, enriching students' campus life, allowing them to showcase their talents, benefit from each other, and thrive together in a diverse environment.
