I started 9th grade in 2021-22, which meant quarantine and masks for the first semester. I was lucky and had a great host family for the first two years, then switched to another host family for my last two years. The academics were challenging, and the nights were long during my swim season. My writing got much stronger thanks to the many essays. Now that I am graduating, I will miss my teachers and friends the most.

This school actively cultivates children aged 6-12 to become international thinkers, communicators, and leaders. The faculty is excellent; some of their courses involve university-level content while also covering essential life skills and knowledge. Students can collaborate with teachers on many research projects during their time at school. Furthermore, the school maintains a very good relationship with parents, regularly communicating with them. International students make up approximately 16% of the student body, and their management is considered good.

The school can't retain good teachers. For example, several excellent math teachers left this year. I heard it's because the school cut salaries.

Self-introduction - I am Dr. Chen, the Director of Admissions at KO. Thank you for the recent comments from students; I hope you will reach out to me, Teacher Wang, or any trusted teacher to discuss. If you wish to apply for a transfer, our teachers will be happy to write recommendation letters for you. Regarding agencies, please contact me directly: emery.s@kingswoodoxford.org. Finally, since a rating must be provided, I gave a 4-- everyone has areas where they can improve. Lastly, I'm sharing the weekend student performance photos/videos taken with my phone.

This school and the host family agency are blaming each other. We want to transfer schools, but the school teachers won't provide recommendation letters or official transcripts, and the host family agency won't refund the deposit.

The school appears to be well-managed, and the courses are quite difficult. However, the university admission outcomes for Chinese students from this school are particularly poor, with students admitted to top 50 universities being almost exclusively American.

We were severely deceived by the agency. The school curriculum is very difficult, and our child has been under tremendous stress since arriving, unable to sleep well daily.

I drove two and a half hours from Boston to visit the school, which is located in West Hartford, Connecticut. West Hartford is an affluent community with abundant educational resources, home to the University of Connecticut, and a 45-minute drive from Yale University. The school campus is not large, giving me a very warm feeling.

1. Ranking: NICHE ranks it "A+", on par with Choate Rosemary Hall in Connecticut. The school employs the advanced Harkness table teaching method.

2. Prestigious Hundred-Year-Old School: The school is one of the earliest independent schools in the United States and a member of the Founders League (other members include top boarding high schools Choate Rosemary Hall, Hotchkiss School, Loomis Chaffee School, and Taft School).

3. Strong in STEM: Especially in computer science. In 2018, the school won first place in the CTFTC Gator Bowl State Championship robotics competition.

4. Kingswood Oxford's biggest feature is its membership in the Global Online Academy, allowing students to take online courses from an alliance of 65 independent schools, such as bio-genetics and medical issues, receiving instruction from renowned teachers worldwide and fully utilizing resources.

5. Strong in Arts: The artistic atmosphere is very strong; there are numerous music and drama courses to meet the artistic needs of any student.
