I go to Porter's as a current senior from Tokyo, Japan. Though I instantly fell in love with the school the moment I stepped on campus, I love Porter's so much deeper, as I spent the most brilliant four years of my life. I am excited to carry out the connections I made with this community to my college and beyond. I can never imagine myself being the woman I am today without Porter's education!

Miss Porter's School is a school with a warm and close-knit community. My favorite tradition is the Spring New Student Event, where all students sing together to welcome new members, which was particularly impressive. The trisemester system allowed me to focus deeply on three subjects per semester, and the range of course options is very wide. I am currently practicing various leadership roles as co-president of the BioAI club, a Junior Advisor, and a Tour Guide. The school culture, which supports students to challenge themselves and grow, and values diversity and inclusion, is its biggest charm.

Hello, I am an 11th-grade student at Miss Porter's School.

I participate in the dance team, orchestra, Science Olympiad, and Science Fair. I also serve as the editor-in-chief of the science magazine Hypatia and the leader of the music club Harmony4all.

There are two main reasons why I particularly love this school. Firstly, it's the community culture where everyone warmly accepts each other. Secondly, it's the environment where students can freely pursue their passions and interests. For me, someone with interests in various fields, this place was the best choice. Thanks to my passionate and warm friends, and the teachers who provide strong support, I have been able to achieve my goals one by one.

As a student at Miss Porter's, I am truly grateful to be able to have such valuable experiences every day.

As a current freshman in high school, I can confidently say that choosing MPS was the smartest decision I've made so far. Transitioning from middle school to high school can be a bit daunting, but the campus environment here helps every student thrive. Thanks to its unique Mastery Learning system, Porter's academic experience is truly one of a kind. This system doesn't just make us study for scores; instead, it empowers us, guiding us to focus on self-growth and the exploration of new ideas. It has helped me cultivate a genuine love for learning because it emphasizes a deep understanding and thorough comprehension of the material. So far, my favorite courses are Drama For Stage and Film. After mastering the fundamentals, these courses allow us to independently choose and undertake various projects, providing us with an excellent opportunity to delve into personal observations and insights and fully unleash our creativity. Personally, I chose MPS precisely because it boasts an amazing community. Anytime, there are always warm-hearted people ready to lend a hand, providing students with all the necessary resources to help every student fully realize their potential. Outside of class, I actively participate in volleyball and softball team training and competitions, and I've also been involved in musical theater through the drama club. It is through these rich and diverse extracurricular activities that I have had the privilege of meeting classmates from different grades and growing alongside them.

Headmaster Zhan's Review: As a top-tier girls' high school, Porter's boasts solid academics, but places even greater emphasis on cultivating girls' social, cultural, and emotional development. The school's traditions and cultural ties unite all students in a caring, family-like community, where students are full of confidence; a strong network of women provides lifelong benefits to every student.
We highly recommend academically strong Chinese girls with interests in art and sports to apply.
Regarding Cultural Heritage: Since 1843, every freshman receives a ring called "Ancients." Even after graduation, this ring remains a symbol for Porter's alumni. Utilizing this lasting alumni relationship, traditions are shared, mutual growth is fostered, forming a powerful cultural bond and a female social network.
Regarding Academic Development: The school is gradually reducing AP courses, replacing them with the Advanced Interdisciplinary Seminar (AIS) program for 11th-12th graders. This program focuses on interdisciplinary, experimental, and project-based learning, cultivating students' abilities to think deeply, evaluate information, and connect knowledge. Additionally, STEM courses are a strong suit at Porter's, with a very rich selection.
Regarding Community Building: The school operates like a large family, consistently maintaining a "senior-mentoring-junior" model. Every freshman is a "new girl" and receives help and companionship from an "old girl." Every 11th-grade student is a Junior Adviser, responsible for assisting 9th and 10th-grade students.
Regarding Emotional Support: The school employs three professional psychological counselors who provide full-time support and guidance throughout the students' academic and personal lives.

Porter's School for Girls, established in 1843, is a beautiful and exquisite institution. It is one of the oldest all-girls schools in the United States, hailed by both the academic and social communities as "the exclusive education for prominent East Coast daughters," and recognized by U.S. News as "America's #1 Girls' Boarding School." The wife of former U.S. President Kennedy and the daughter of George W. Bush were among its alumni.

The school does not offer AP courses nor does it require students to take AP exams. It provides specialized courses in female leadership, as well as art courses such as jewelry appraisal and weaving. Even if students do not pursue political careers, they are certainly cultivated into cultured young women and prominent figures, developing both their academic and artistic talents. The annual Ivy League acceptance rate hovers around 9%, with many students ultimately attending prestigious universities like New York University, Stanford, and MIT.

Porter's School for Girls consistently adheres to its mission of "educating and shaping young women to become intellectual, courageous, witty, and principled global citizens, with the vision and courage to change the world." It spares no effort in investing in and building an international girls' education program, fostering and forging numerous exemplary international female leaders.

First-hand information: Just finished a school visit. This year, the school plans to enroll 5 Chinese students.

School Visit:
In a quiet town called Framingo, CT, the school's Admission office is built by the river, feeling very peaceful and comfortable. A large floor-to-ceiling window overlooks the entire rushing river. On the same side of the road as the Admission office, there is a sports center with an indoor swimming pool and a gym.

Most of the teaching buildings are on a small hillside on the other side of the road. Although the total area is not large, the buildings are compactly arranged.
The visit included a trial class session.
The school gives the impression that the girls are all very nice.
The overall feeling regarding facilities is similar to Governor's. Accommodation options are double and triple rooms.
