Stevenson was the best choice we made for our two daughters. They have opposite personalities: one enjoys being by herself, while the other always spends time with friends. Both thrived at the school and loved their boarding life. The school is clearly accommodating enough for many types of students.

Students at Stevenson are quite chill. The curriculum is rigorous, yet they are having fun in many interesting activities on their own initiative. We are glad we did not send our daughters to some East Coast schools because a few of our friends’ children became depressed there due to highly stressful environments.

The teachers and staff are very friendly and take good care of boarding students. We have a lot of trust in them and sent our second daughter there after our first one graduated and went to UChicago. The school’s college matriculation has always been excellent. With each passing year, we have seen more students gain admission to those highly selective top universities.

My daughter studied high school here for 4 years and will attend Stanford University in 2025. In 2026, two more junior students from the school were admitted to Stanford. The students at this school make incredible progress every year, which makes us feel especially gratified and proud. The area boasts the beautiful town of Carmel, the Pebble Beach Golf Links, and the lovely, relaxing Monterey Fisherman's Wharf. Spending four years in such a beautiful, tranquil, yet romantically vibrant region left us with a wonderful impression of high school. Though classmates are heading to different universities, the four years of friendship and companionship are deeply etched in the children's hearts. The Chinese Parents Association provided a lot of help, organizing parent meet-up events, allowing parents from different years to get to know each other during visits to their children. The school principal is very nice, and the teachers are all highly admirable. My daughter received a lot of substantial help here. Thank you, Stevenson School, it is a school of growth that we will never forget.

DO NOT COME TO STEVENSON, ESPECIALLY AS A DORM STUDENT!
1: Dorms do not get service on weekends; all bathrooms are unusable.
2. All dorms are infested with rats, and you have to pay to get them out.
3. Severe drug problem. Over 60% of students take drugs.
4. Three teachers have had intimate relationships with students.
5. Does not allow beliefs that do not align with leftist ideologies. Very strict.
6. The school has suspended people for taking AP courses outside of the school.
7. Also, dorms have roof leaks.

My child has successfully completed two years of study at Stevenson. The biggest change in my child is becoming confident and mature. His confidence and maturity stem from the excellent growth environment the school provided for him – teachers encourage students to cultivate a passion for learning, encourage him to actively participate in community activities, encourage him to try various sports, and challenge himself to improve his performance in projects he is passionate about. In junior high school in China, my child's academic performance was average, and he was more of a passive follower. Here, teachers engaged in dialogue with him, understood his learning interests, how he thought about and solved problems, and offered various suggestions. With the continuous encouragement from teachers and his own diligent efforts, his grades improved significantly, which in turn further ignited his passion for learning. In community activities, the school strongly emphasizes the concept of community; the entire school is like a big family. The admissions office even gave him a task: to introduce various aspects of school life and learning to prospective new students, helping them understand the school and make informed choices. My child loves sports and thrives here. The school offers high-level training in many programs, from professional skills, competitive psychology, and teamwork to personal leadership, which has helped him make significant progress. Earlier this year, he was even elected captain of the swimming team by his classmates. Driven by our child's involvement, we, as parents, have also actively participated in various parent volunteer services organized by the school, including fundraising, community service, home-school liaison, and more. I am very glad we made the right choice.
