The admissions officer at Wyoming High School is very kind and benevolent. The only downsides are that the school area is a bit small and there are quite a few Chinese students. Other than that, everything else is pretty good. Whether it's suitable or not depends on the specific demands and needs of different parents and children.

Wyoming is a renowned century-old aristocratic school, located in a historic town in Pennsylvania, only a 2-hour drive from the historic American city of Philadelphia. The nearest airport is Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport. The school has two campuses: the Forty Fort campus (Kindergarten to Grade 9) and the Kingston campus (Grade 9 to Grade 12). The school places great emphasis on teaching quality and has been known for its 'rigorous teaching and strict management' since its establishment.

In the high school division, the school offers a rich and diverse curriculum, including 22 AP courses. It even offers ornithology and Irish literature. In addition to regular courses, Wyoming established the Louis Maslow STEM School in 2012. This school not only integrates STEM learning into daily courses, student clubs, and various activities (such as the Environmental Club, Scientific Research Group, Robotics Engineering Club, etc.), but also incorporates the STEM philosophy into the entire community. Academically, Wyoming's resources also give the campus a unique character; the Science category alone offers nearly 30 course options, which is also one of the school's strengths.

The school also provides support in music, visual arts, dance, and drama, offering students opportunities to perform on stage. In terms of sports, 78% of students participate in sports, and last year the school even added women's wrestling.

Our school has a lot of unexpected high achievers (dark horses). This year, 4 students got into UPenn, Columbia, and NYU. Two Korean students got into Princeton, and one Japanese student got into MIT. Three American students got into Yale, two of whom were recruited for the wrestling program.

English classes at Wyoming High School are very flexible. The school requires students to complete one English credit each year, and 9th-grade students need to complete four years of English courses. The school's English curriculum is tailored for students of different grades and situations, with mandatory components including Literature Exploration, Literary Genres, Style & Structure, and Speech. The school also offers AP Language and Composition and various reading courses categorized by literary types, such as Post-Apocalyptic Literature, Early British Literature, and Horror Fiction, to understand the reasons behind the emergence of different genres. Students can choose two English courses, but they must take an English course every year; therefore, the additional course cannot allow students to complete their English credits ahead of schedule.

Wyoming High School's STEM/STEAM Intensive Program is a four-year activity comprised of two important components. First, Wyoming students must complete in-depth study of their chosen courses. Second, students need to complete corresponding academic assignments, independently undertaking specialized project work each year. These processes must be documented, collected into a portfolio, and culminate in a capstone project during the final academic year, aiding students' academic growth and applications.
Students who successfully complete the Intensive Program will receive recognition from the STEM/STEAM Intensive Center upon graduation, earning a special designation on their transcript. The disciplines of the STEM/STEAM Intensive Program include, but are not limited to, the following five: Natural and Applied Sciences, Computer Technology Science, Engineering, Art & Design, and Mathematics.

Nearly 50% of Wyoming students participate in music activities. Experienced musicians join the most prestigious city orchestras, students with dramatic talent, those who prefer to be backstage heroes, and students from various school clubs can all showcase their talents on the Wyoming Middle School stage. The school boasts highly experienced directors, fully equipped stages and rehearsal venues, as well as makeup and dressing rooms. The school particularly emphasizes theater technology and performance skills. Wyoming hosts three major productions annually, including one musical each year. Students can also join the jazz ensemble or madrigal choir. If the conductor believes a student has the ability to participate in an ensemble, that student will have the opportunity to perform in a chamber orchestra. Beyond the main curriculum, a world-class faculty provides specialized tutoring for students.

Wyoming Seminary, located in the historic city of Kingston, Pennsylvania, is an integral part of the town. Founded in 1844, despite having 'Seminary' in its name, the school has lost its religious atmosphere after over 100 years of development and has become a standard college preparatory school.

The high school division of Sem has over 400 students, boasting an 8:1 student-to-teacher ratio and 75% of its teachers holding master's degrees or higher. In terms of curriculum, Sem's most distinctive feature is its STEM program. All 9th-grade students at Sem are required to take STEM courses. Their STEM program also has excellent faculty. This aligns with the recent trend in American high schools emphasizing STEM projects.

Another outstanding program at Sem is its arts and performing arts. The school's new Theatre Arts building, which just opened in 2014, features a theater that can accommodate around 600 people, numerous individual music practice rooms, a Black Box theater, and more. For students with artistic talents, especially those interested in drama, performance, and dance, Sem's Theatre Arts will undoubtedly be a perfect fit.

The admission requirements for this school are not considered high; typically, a TOEFL score below 90 can be accepted, and SSAT scores are in the 2100-2200 range.

When the epidemic broke out in China, it was spring break. The school advised Chinese children not to return to China and kept the dorms open. Later, the Pennsylvania government announced the closure of schools, and the school then notified everyone about the closure of both the school and dorms. School teachers confirmed travel plans with each child and contacted host families for those who couldn't leave. My daughter returned to China; her host family took her to the airport and even gave her goggles. We are grateful for the school's arrangements and the host family's help.

Wyoming Seminary is very suitable for students who excel in science subjects (especially science). Students who wish to pursue careers in biology or are strong in biology will have a significant advantage. In terms of humanities, the school's strongest areas are art and literature. If you prioritize breadth in history, Wyoming Seminary may not be a top choice for you (the school's history program is good, but the courses offered by the history department are not as numerous as those in other subjects). Additionally, Sem is one of only 10 Round Square Schools in the entire U.S., offering many global opportunities.
