Boston University Academy was founded in 1993. Covering 133 acres, it is an academically challenging independent school located within the campus of a major urban research university. 4. BUA's 11th and 12th-grade students take BU courses for college credit in addition to their studies in the Academy building.

5. The school's Senior Thesis project aims to demonstrate students' reading comprehension, in-depth research skills, analytical thinking abilities, and the capacity to write coherently in an academic manner. The thesis should be between 4,000-6,000 words in length and written according to recognized university standards.
