The desire to know yourself and understand your connection to the universe is natural. At Maharishi School, we believe knowing yourself is critical for students to develop their full potential. Our unique programs and techniques help students cultivate their sense of self, discover their passions, and center themselves during the turbulence of adolescence. Our students start and end the day with meditation and yoga allowing them to be rested, alert, and highly focused. Maharishi School values depth of learning and original ideas over learning a breadth of facts. Our approach cultivates a vertical thinking process and encourages students to make connections between day-to-day concepts and universal principles. Our Honors and AP classes and project-based learning pushes this critical thinking to greater depths.

I've visited it. The school is located in a small town. The principal and teachers are all very kind. Overall, their average age seems a bit high. Its biggest advantage is the low tuition fees. However, there's still room for improvement in software, hardware, dining, accommodation, and other aspects. Although it's not a religious school, it originated from an Indian meditation sect. During breaks, I saw some young children silently walking in lines in the hallway (a meditation method for younger students), which made me feel a bit unaccustomed. The total number of students is not large, and the proportion of Chinese students is relatively high, especially among boarding students. Some high-achieving students are children of faculty and staff from the nearby Maharishi University, living at home, and thus have little interaction with boarding students.

Maharishi School is a truly unique institution in the United States and even worldwide. Maharishi not only provides high-quality education but also incorporates daily yoga and meditation sessions—one in the morning and one in the afternoon—to help children release stress from their busy academic schedules and to nourish their inner development, leading to better external performance. Every teacher at the school is very caring, and with small class sizes, teachers can pay close attention to the growth of each child. The school also boasts a high degree of internationalization, allowing children to interact with classmates from all over the world and broaden their horizons.
