York is a small school with a distinctive campus culture, exceptional faculty, and a rigorous academic program. In the inclusive Episcopal school tradition, we recognize the dignity of all human beings and welcome our students’ diverse talents, viewpoints, and faiths. We’ve found that our small school community helps develop personal responsibility and concern for others. With 225 students in grades 8-12, the York community is small in some ways, large in others. We are large enough to provide a comprehensive academic and extra-curricular program, with wide range of courses designed to provide excellent preparation for college, and small enough to offer everyone an opportunity for personal expression through participation in clubs, drama, music, sports, student government, and social activities. Small classes bring closer contact with academic work, more chances to interact directly with faculty, and the kind of personal attention that takes students to the next level.

York School is located in an affluent area of Monterey, California, on a hilltop surrounded by evergreen oak trees, overlooking Monterey Bay. It is a co-educational day school for grades 9-12. The school's STEAM program is particularly outstanding, with its robotics team 5171 winning the All-Star Rookie Award at the first robotics championship in the Silicon Valley region. The school's performing arts are very strong, and the school requires all students to first study foundational art courses, including drawing and various media courses such as charcoal drawing, pastel painting, pen and ink drawing, color studies, and printmaking. We have students attending, and the feedback is excellent.

5. International Students Excel: Consistently winning awards in competitions such as the National Latin Exam and math competitions.
6. Dual Credit Courses: The school partners with One School House to offer online advanced Latin and math courses for students, including multivariable calculus.
