As an educational consultant, I have placed approximately 15 students at The Stony Brook School over the past 10 years. They consistently speak very highly of their experience. Nearly all have gone on to attend top 30 universities, including institutions such as Cornell and Vanderbilt. I highly recommend the school.

Academically, Stony Brook is very strong, offering a wide variety of courses. The entire school has 124 courses, and 19-21 AP courses are offered year-round, allowing students to choose classes based on their strengths. Beyond AP, the school also provides advanced courses such as college-level courses, independent research, engineering innovation, robotics, rocket projects, and advanced mathematics, which are especially suitable for children who are keen to delve deeper.

Furthermore, the school is very friendly towards international students, with a dedicated ISP (International Student Program) support project. Many students find it challenging to adapt when they first study in the US. Here, they will receive language tutoring, be paired with local students for companionship, and participate in weekend exploration and research experience activities, which can effectively alleviate their unfamiliarity and help them quickly adapt to campus life and integrate into overseas living. The college admission results are also impressive; the four-year university acceptance rate is very high. Many students from the Class of 2025 have received offers from top universities like Princeton, Stanford, Columbia, Caltech, Duke, and Northwestern. In previous years, there have also been frequent cases of admissions to prestigious schools such as MIT, Yale, Cornell, NYU, and Carnegie Mellon. Overall, the college placement strength is very solid, making it a high-quality American high school with excellent value for money and reputation.

We made an on-site visit to The Stony Brook School in New York, and the overall experience was excellent. It's a century-old, reputable American high school that gives parents great peace of mind. The school was founded in 1922, located on the North Shore of Long Island, New York, about an hour's drive from New York City. It offers grades 7-12, with both boarding and day student options.

The school is right next to Stony Brook University (SUNY Stony Brook), just across the road. Students can attend university lectures, participate in research projects, and find internship opportunities, experiencing the academic atmosphere of a university early on, which is extremely helpful for future college applications. Moreover, the school is very close to the beach, reachable by walking or a short drive, allowing students to practice water sports like sailing, swimming, and rowing. It can be said that being near a university, the ocean, and New York City provides an exceptionally rich learning and living experience.

I wholeheartedly recommend The Stony Brook School, a private high school located on Long Island, New York. As a student and a boarding student, this school has profoundly helped me grow not only academically but also personally.

At Stony Brook, I was able to discover my interests and talents by participating in lacrosse, robotics, and various STEM activities. In particular, robotics and engineering-related classes were a great help in finding my career path. The school provided me with the necessary opportunities and environment to prepare for college and my future.

Furthermore, through boarding life, I learned independence, responsibility, time management, and the attitude of respecting others within a community. The school's motto, “Character Before Career,” made me realize that having an outstanding character is more important than prioritizing personal gain. Stony Brook is a precious school that has helped me grow into a better student, team member, and a successful adult in the future.
