Woodberry Forest School, founded in 1889, is a private boarding school for boys with a Christian religious background, established on the large farm of President James Madison's family. The school's beautiful 1200-acre campus is located in Madison, Virginia, near Washington D.C., exuding a strong aristocratic atmosphere. The boarding student ratio is 100%.
The school boasts comprehensive facilities. The library, which moved to a new location in 2017, provides students with a modern public learning space and access to necessary online and offline resources. Technology usage is also highly advanced; the school offers a wide range of software, databases, and equipment, from advanced CAD software and 3D printers for engineering programs to professional equipment for electronic music initiatives, updated annually based on the needs of faculty and students. Dormitories and academic buildings are perched on a hilltop in the Virginia Piedmont, offering views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Down the hill are athletic facilities, a 9-hole golf course, and ample land for boys to explore, including miles of mountain biking trails and the three-mile-long Rapidan River. The school's sports facilities are excellent, including a gymnasium, wrestling room, fitness center, Barbee Track and Swim Center, squash courts, and outdoor fields for football and lacrosse, among others.
The school offers 18 sports programs and has 42 athletic teams. Since 1901, an annual football friendly match has been held between Woodberry Forest School and Episcopal High School.

Woodberry Forest School, founded in 1889, is a premier all-boys, full-boarding school in the United States, possessing a natural advantage in single-sex education.

The campus spans 1200 acres and is located in Madison, Virginia. It is a full-boarding school with strong alumni connections. Due to its proximity to Washington D.C., Woodberry students can visit the National Gallery of Art, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts to experience world-class artworks firsthand.

The school boasts excellent golf resources, including a top-tier golf course where matches are played on its own 9-hole course. There is also the Graves Golf Practice Facility, built in 1991, which includes a driving range, two practice greens, and sand traps. In 2009, a golf video lab was added, featuring 2D and 3D motion capture systems and computer software for analyzing golf swings.

The school has established the "Academic Development" program, which includes two learning modules: Study Skills courses and SAT Prep courses. The school recognizes that targeted preparation for standardized tests can lead to higher scores, and therefore needs to offer this option to students and parents. The key is to avoid extending student test prep schedules to encroach upon their regular coursework (after all, this is also a crucial factor in helping students achieve their best GPA) and to train students to use strategies and techniques to achieve optimal scores on future SAT and ACT exams.
