School Overview

Eaglebrook is a boarding and day school for boys in the sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth grades. In a warm, caring, structured atmosphere, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way.

Eaglebrook’s role is to help each boy come into full and confident possession of his innate talents, to improve the skills needed for the challenges of secondary school, and to establish values that will allow him to be a person who respects individual differences and acts with thoughtfulness and humanity.

At the heart of the school is the shared life of teachers, their families, and boys working together. Teachers set the academic tone, coach the teams, and serve as dormitory parents. Located on 850 acres, our gorgeous campus is located in historic Deerfield, MA, on beautiful Mount Pocumtuck.

Eaglebrook is truly a special place - from the world-class facilities to the faculty that really care about the students. We had two boys attend Eaglebrook and the experiences they had both in and out of the classroom were life-changing. Learning how to study, opening their minds to learning, sharing experiences with other students from around the globe were seminal in their development and led them both to a path of success for high school and beyond. Lifelong friendships were formed, and they boys both still place Eaglebrook as the springboard for their educational accomplishments.

My son graduated from this school. The school inspired him to transform from a mischievous, playful child into a young man who is dedicated to his studies, plays all sports, sets future goals, and is determined to achieve them. He learned patience and perseverance to succeed, and became caring towards friends and those around him. The school has an excellent environment, modern learning equipment, sports facilities, and provides opportunities and support for every child. Most importantly, it has a caring teaching staff and team who look after students in all aspects: physical health, mental well-being, and safety. My son said it was the best experience of his life. Best life long experience !!!

Principal Zhan's Review: For 100 years, this school has consistently sent excellent students to top American high schools. From academic, social, cultural, and emotional aspects, Eaglebrook provides strong support for adolescent boys.
Starting at age 11, four full years of middle school comprehensively shape boys, preparing them to become outstanding leaders. The competition for American junior high schools is fierce. Parents considering applying for 6th or 7th grade are advised to start preparations in 2nd-4th grade.
In terms of cultural heritage, it has maintained a tradition of family management for a century, currently in its third generation. During the traditional Home Nights event every Wednesday, students and mentors have dinner together and interact, and the school invites public figures to give speeches.
In terms of academic cultivation, Eaglebrook offers a rich and diverse curriculum suitable for middle school boys' learning styles, providing up to 112 courses across 6 major subjects: English, mathematics, history, language, science, and art. 6th-grade students are required to study Latin, and starting from 7th grade, they can choose other languages such as Chinese, French, or Spanish.
In terms of community building, the school fosters a warm and caring environment, guiding students to discover self-motivation and cultivate confidence. The school focuses on building close relationships between teachers and students. In addition to teaching, teachers also mentor teams, act as dormitory parents, and are always available to help when boys need support.
In terms of emotional support, the school has a wealth of traditional activities and team community services to help children develop strong psychological and social skills. Furthermore, the school provides round-the-clock care for children's physical and mental well-being.
